What was not to like about this property. Immaculately clean inside and out, rooms were large with seating/lounge area. Pool although a little chilly (at the time we stayed) was beautiful. Staff were amazingly helpful and friendly, always making sure we were happy. Great breakfast served as buffet with so many choices. Close to beach, shops and local transport. A real gem 10/10.

Very helpful to order taxi when needed and good advises on what to do or not do on a daily basis. Great breakfast in a lovely garden. Special thanks to Mme Sophia. But plane was very late, car rented through booking.com was cancelled automatically after 12.00 and booking.com refused to reimburse! Never use their service for car rental.

Four days on the beach and I feel more drained than when I arrived. There is no corner to hide away from tourism and although it's beautiful water and breathtaking view, you can't completely detach because of the planes arriving and departing every half hour and people trying to strip you down for every penny in your pocket.

From travelling around Santorini we found Kamari to be the best part of the island. It is clean, has lovely restaurants and shops and whilst the beach is pebbly there are free sun lounges with a beautiful view out to sea. We hired a car and it was easy and free to park it near by. We would also recommend the Atlantis museum and the open air cinema.

A very neat promenade with a number of nicely decorated restaurants. However, when you go deeper inland, it is not arranged like that. The beach is better towards the big rock, because it has a better access to the sea.

The location is ok-ish as you have the beach (Kamari) nearby and some hikes that start a few hundreds of meters away from the property (e.g. Ancient Thira). There’s also a bus that can get you to Fira. There are also plenty of supermarkets, restaurants and even a great coffee shop and bakery at walking distance from the property. You’ll find street parking nearby and can perform self check in and check out which is convenient.
We didn’t like the facilities that much and the cleanliness. We found ants around the bed and didn’t get the room cleaned even when we asked for it. We left the “clean room sign” on the door and all we got were new towels.

It really is a good location.
It really is a good location. You do NOT want to be in Thira - just too busy.
Lots of restaurants and bars to choose from along the seafront.
Small compact little town with a bus service that seems to get well used. Bus stop is just up the road from the Hotel. Service is regular to other parts of the island. Do not drive unless you are competent and confident. They are nutters. Roads are not really adequate for a scooter - that's why we chose a quad bike. You need to be early or late into Thira because when the cruise ships disgorge their human cargo you get swept along with the tide - not good. It can get really hot during the day so suncream and hat and water a MUST.
Fantastic experience here. We arrived early after taking red eye flights and Maria at check in gave us a room upgrade to get an early check in. She also gave us plenty of restaurant recommendations which we enjoyed. The rest of the staff were also very kind. The room was exceptional as well as the rest of the hotel. We really enjoyed the breakfast as everything was delicious. The location was great being steps away from the beach and a plethora of restaurant and stores. We would stay here again in a future trip to Santorini!
The swimming pool space made our stay a 10! And the warm family who run the hotel made us feel at home. They are so lovely and helpful. They explained all our doubts, solved a few things we were struggling with and were available all the time. The rooms are simple but super clean and big and the balcony was very nice and comfortable as well. There is a big supermarket 8 mins from the flat and a small one 100mt and same thing with the bus stops. If I went back to Santorini I would go back to Alkyon. Thanks a lot!
- Perfect location next to the beach and Cretan Bakery where you will find absolutely amazing pastries, cakes and sweats. 2 mins walk to bus stop which you can go to Fira and other parts of Santorini.
- Friendly staff, especially one gentleman from reception, very kind and helpful all the time.
- Delicious breakfast.
- Nice food and coctails in Kordas restaurant, can honestly recommend, affordable prices.
- Room was cleaned every day.
- Large pool.
- Easy to get from Airport to Hotel and return.
Superb place. A quiet, green oasis in Santorini a 10-15 min walk to Kamari town and beach. We were greeted by Kozeta when we arrived. Lovely lady who explained everything and cleaned our apt daily. Wonderful apt with comfy beds, kitchen, and big bathroom, and a garden to relax in. Bottled water, coffee, tea, oil, salt and pepper provided, as well as a complimentary basket of fresh fruit (a terrific and much appreciated surprise). This was definitely the best place we stayed at in Greece.
My partner and I had the best time staying in Kamari and especially in the Santellini Hotel. They had the friendliest of staff and the owner Martha was wonderful, she really made you feel welcome and at home with her delicious wish cake.
The pool area was kept very clean and we enjoyed the privacy of the upstairs sunlounge area.
The room size was great and the location couldn't have been better. We felt really sad to leave Santorini....
Small hotel managed by friendly personnel. I booked this hotel with a lot of anticipation, so I was able to manage a great rate for Santorini in high season. The property is located close to the beach and within driving distance to Fira and Oia. The facility is better in real life than in pictures. Thanks for a great stay and making my check out an easy one.
Great resort located in Kamari village in Santorini, with amazing view to the Ancient Thira hills, our room was great super spotless and with nice modern and new furniture and the employees who works in it, was truly kind and nice. The beach access was easy and the hotel's restaurant made delicious breakfast and meals. Definitely I will be back for more days.
The apartment is well stocked with a big fridge and small hob, the beds were comfy and the air con was great and it only takes 5min tops to walk to the beach. I was working while in Santorini and the wifi was really fast. There is a house keeper who comes every morning. We really enjoyed our stay and the host was very attentive and always ready to help.
Treated upon arrival as family, Dimitiri and the
team host a truly brilliant atmosphere. Situated a mere two minute walk from the beach and Kamari Centre, the location is perfect. All requests/needs are catered to and we couldn't stay anywhere else if we were to return to Santorini. 4 days/5 nights felt too short but this won't be forgotten.
we liked everything, the hotel is very beautiful, well decorated, in front of the beach, very calm, close to the airport, adorable staff, we were very well treated, we love everything and we recommend it to everyone, it is an excellent option for anyone who wants to stay close to the airport, or even to visit the beaches of Santorini
everything about this property was wonderful. The location is fantastic, right on the beach! The hotel staff is friendly and welcoming. A happy spot to stay and enjoy Santorini. My daughter and I were sad to leave and can not wait to come back for another visit and stay again!
George is a great host. We are vegetarian so his mom baked a eggless cake that we excellent. George stocked the refrigerator with fruits and had many things for us.
If we ever go back to Santorini we would definitely stay at the same place. Thank you George for everything.
- Staff: very professional yet warm and friendly. Excellent team that makes sure you relax and unwind.
- One of the few hotel on Santorini with access to both beach and pool
- Sleek design
- Delicious breakfast open till noon, fresh ingredients, best restaurant in Kamari
My second stay at Kastelli and it's still my favourite hotel. I was upgraded again which was amazing! I have stayed in many Santorini hotels and Kastelli is my favourite by miles. It is extremely comfortable, in the best location in Kamari and love everything about it
A very clean, pleasant and comfortable family hotel. Delicious breakfast and splendid flowers in the garden. The host was very kind and hospitable. I' ll recomand HIPPOCAMPUS to all my friends who want to experience gorgeous holidays in Kamari, on Santorini Island😊
Position and location! Breakfast with a view in a beautiful garden with pool and pink flowers almost on the sand of Kamari beach. Nice temperature in the room, bathroom like a traditional caves of Santorini :) This hotel made our weekend getaway even more perfect!
Tasos, the main host, is a beautiful person.
Always availability for all, really cute, and ready to give us all we need for our trip.
Really good experience in Santorini :) Location near the beach and to all the restaurant and supermarket
Excellent family resort in Santorini. The best place to stay in the Kamari area. Lovely apartment with a nice pool. Very quiet and relaxing setting. Vangelis was also very kind and helpful. We will come back here as soon as we can.
Daily cleaning, owner very nice and helpful.
Bus stop and shop close to the house
To the beach also a few minutes away
Quiet air conditioning, could work all night
If I will in Santorini again I will come back to this hotel :)
